About Technical Details

Technical Detail helps homeowners turn ideas for their property into completed

building projects.

We combine design, technical knowledge and practical construction experience,

so your project is considered from the first sketch through to permissions,

detailed drawings, procurement, site work and completion.

Our role is to bring clarity to the process, solve problems before they become

expensive, and help make sure the project is not only well designed, but properly

buildable.

Chartered Architectural Technologists

We are Chartered Architectural Technologists, which means our work is focused on how buildings are designed, detailed and constructed in the real world.

Good design still matters, but we approach it with buildability, cost, regulations, materials and site conditions in mind.

For homeowners, that means the design is not just about how the finished project will look, but how it can be approved, priced, built and managed properly. Our professional background helps us connect the creative, technical and practical parts of a project.

Helping You Through Every Stage

Home projects can become complicated quickly. A simple idea may involve planning rules, Building Regulations, structural design, Party Wall matters, contractor pricing, contracts, site decisions and final certification.

We help bring these moving parts together. Depending on what your project needs, we can develop the design, prepare technical information, coordinate consultants, help with contractor procurement and support the build through to completion.

The aim is to give homeowners a clearer route through the process, with fewer gaps between design, pricing and construction.

How We Work

Understanding the Brief

We start by discussing what you want to achieve, what is not working in your home, your budget, timescale and any constraints we need to consider.

Design & Permissions

We develop the design and prepare the drawings and documents needed for planning permission or other approvals where required.

Technical Detail

Once the design direction is agreed, we prepare the Building Regulations information, construction drawings and details needed for pricing and building.

Building the Project

As both the design team and the building team, we carry the thinking and detail through into construction. Our core team delivers the work, supported by trusted specialist subcontractors where needed, keeping the project coordinated through to completion.

Why This Matters

Many project problems happen because the design, technical drawings, pricing and site work are treated as separate stages with little connection between them. We look at the whole journey. That means early design decisions are considered alongside cost, buildability, regulations and how the work will actually happen on site. This joined-up approach helps homeowners make better decisions and gives contractors clearer information to work from.

Additional Professional Support

Party Wall Surveying

We are members of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors and can advise homeowners where proposed works affect a shared wall, boundary or neighbouring property. Party Wall matters can be handled as part of a wider home project or as a standalone service.

Contracts & Contractor Payments

We recommend using appropriate contracts so the project is properly set up, with clearer expectations around cost, programme, payments and responsibilities. We can also help assess completed work before funds are released.

CDM & Health and Safety Duties

We are members of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors and can advise homeowners where proposed works affect a shared wall, boundary or neighbouring property. Party Wall matters can be handled as part of a wider home project or as a standalone service.

Fire Safety. The importance of fire safety on the building site can’t be stressed enough. P50 foam is an amazing all rounder “all fires”. #ciat #architecturaltechnology
